Snowy Portraits of Two Little Ones

Right before I flew back to Minnesota, I got to take some portraits of two of my favorite little ones.  We met at a park and had much fun playing as the snow fell all around us.  There was much eating of snow:

Some snowball throwing and snowman building:

And of course, some swinging!

What a great morning!  Thanks for hanging out with me, you two.

After all that excitement, I had a great nap on the plane!

Portraits of Hazel – Almost 9 Months

Happy Thanksgiving, blog-land!  I’m home visiting my parents in Iowa for the long weekend.  My family has a late Thanksgiving dinner, so I’ve spent much of the day editing photos.  I’m getting hungry for dinner, though!

Yesterday, before I flew home to Iowa, I took pictures of Hazel and her parents who were in town from Colorado. We only overlapped in the Twin Cities for a short time, so we made the most of our session.  Isn’t she a cutie?

See you guys on the slopes this winter!

Family Portraits in Maple Grove, Minnesota

Sunday I went out to Maple Grove to take children’s portraits for a former colleague of mine.  There were two sets of siblings, smartly dressed in browns and pinks:

And everyone all together:

The boys were so well-behaved and handsome:

And the girls were blue-eyed and beautiful:

Of course with this many kids, there are bound to be some funny outtakes:

Thanks so much.  It was really fun to meet you!

Christmas Card Photos of Lily

I had a quick family session in St. Paul this morning, so this family could get a few pictures of their daughter, Lily, for their holiday cards.  I think they’re going to have a tough time choosing which photo to use, she’s just too cute in all of them.  Here are a quick peek of those that caught my eye as I downloaded them off the memory card:

Look at those lashes!

Thanks for being so well-behaved, Miss Lily.  I wish you and your family a very happy holidays!

Black and White at the Guthrie

Winter in Minnesota is tough!  It’s hard to find warm places to take photos, when it is cold and snowy outside.  Minneapolis’ new Guthrie Theater can be a perfect place.  Early in the morning, when there aren’t any plays going on, there is lots of room to run around. This family was so sharply dressed in black-and-white, it was perfect for the modern setting:

But of course, there are parts of the Guthrie that are all about color.  Check it out!

A wintery portrait session with little Jack

I met up with Jack and his parents this weekend for a quick portrait session in Minneapolis.  It was quite chilly (Jack told us a couple times “coat on” “mittens on”) so we didn’t stop moving for an hour!  And look at the adorable result:

We also snuck inside for a few more portraits.  I can’t believe how much bigger Jack is than the last time I saw him over a year ago … isn’t he just a little man?
