I missed last Monday’s blog post, so now I’m playing catch up! And boy do I have lots to report. Two Saturdays ago, I was able to second shoot with the fabulous Becca Dilley, at a cool wedding and reception on the Harriet Island Showboat. You’ll have to check Becca’s blog in a few weeks for the wedding photos.
On Sunday, my family portrait session had to be rescheduled due to the rainy weather. I’d also hoped to be able to post photos from the Twin Cities Marathon (I went to cheer on my Team in Training teammates!), but it was still too rainy to pull out my camera. Fortunately, the rainy weather didn’t last all week. I was able to get out after work one day and take photos of my neighborhood, Prospect Park, Minneapolis. Here’s the Witch’s Hat water tower surrounded by autumn leaves:

And a really cool mural I found on the side of the former Tower Grocery:

Then this weekend, I went to New York City, to surprise my sister on her 30th birthday! Because she lives there, I get to visit often and we’ve hit all the major tourist attractions. Now we just hang out and have fun. This trip, we visited the Brooklyn Brewery for some Octoberfest and other yummy beers.
We also had a great brunch at the Central Park Boathouse and walked through the Rambles in Central Park.

Next weekend, I head down to Des Moines for a wedding at the Living History Farms. I’m so excited! I think it’ll be my last wedding of the season, but I’m booked with portrait sessions right through the middle of November.
