Orange and Green | Succulent Styled Shoot

I had the amazing opportunity to attend the Poser: Exposed workshop in Dallas in July, taught by a wedding photographer whose work and style I greatly admire.  As part of the workshop, there was a mock wedding where we got to watch our workshop leader in action.  I wanted to share some of the wedding tablescapes, because I thought they were beautiful and inspriational.

The wedding was held in the beautiful patio space at the tapas restaurant Cafe Malaga in McKinney, Texas.  I just adored the flower arrangements, done by the amazing Ashley of ashlilium.  I especially loved that the succulents in the bridal bouquet could be planted after the wedding, and they would just grow in place.  What a wonderful post-wedding keepsake.  And it wouldn’t be a 2010 wedding without a cupcake table.  Here the cupcakes were from the national cupcake powerhouse Sprinkles, and I can vouch for their deliciousness.

Brandon’s Broadway Bar Mitzvah

Say that 3 times fast . . .  I had a wonderful time photographing Brandon at his Broadway-themed Bar Mitzvah at the Mendakota Country Club and Temple of Aaron in St. Paul.

Lookout World! Sophia turns one.

My what a difference a year makes!  Sophia’s gone from a teeny newborn (see her photos) to an adorable little person, walking and talking and really curious about my camera lens!  Some things stay the same, however. Sophia was still one of the most content subjects I’ve ever had.  We took these photos in her Minneapolis yard and then went for a stroll along the Minnehaha parkway for a change of scenery.

Mark & Kris | Engaged

I met Mark & Kris on my triathlon team last year and was honored when they contacted me to do engagement photos for them.  They picked Lake Calhoun, in Uptown, Minneapolis for their session, because that was where they met and where they got engaged!  We had a beautiful night with the last of the spring flowers blooming.  Here’s your sneak peek!

4 Year Old Shae | Minneapolis Children’s Photography

When I first met Shae, he was a little reluctant to leave Dad’s side. Fortunately for all of us, he warmed up and we had a fun evening photo session downtown Minneapolis!  Here’s a sneak peek of a few from our photo session.

It was wonderful to meet you!  I’ll post your full gallery soon.

Catherine & Dave | Engaged

Before those awesome sunset shots (remember?) I spent the afternoon with Catherine and Dave, exploring my old hometown.   I just love what we found in downtown Davenport.  It rivals the warehouse district of Minneapolis for great textures and weathered buildings.

We stopped off at Catherine’s parents house to take some photos with their awesome dog, Suzie.

And before that we posed at the Vandeveer Park (along with every other wedding party in town).   But no wonder, it makes a lovely backdrop:

What a great day!  I can’t wait until your wedding in October.
