Calling all 2010 (and 2011) brides! Have you heard about the upcoming Something New: Independent Wedding Fair? It’s taking place this February 6 at the fabulous Five Event Center in Minneapolis. And I’ll be there as a a vendor, in great company with lots of other amazing local vendors.

The event is meant to showcase a group of hand-selected vendors that are all locally owned and independently minded. Tickets are now available, and I will post more updates in the coming months.

I’m jumping on the can wagon!

I have a ton of new photos and posts to share with you before my official holiday hiatus. To encourage you to leave comments on my posts (and to make sure I get some of this blog-backlog cleared), I’m joining the Can for Comments program. For each comment left between now and midnight on December 26, 2009 on any blog post (including old ones), I’ll make a $0.50 cash donation to Minnesota’s own Second Harvest Heartland, the second fastest growing food bank in the country. Why a cash donation instead of actual cans? Cash goes much farther: Second Harvest Heartland can provide $9 worth of grocery products for each $1 they receive in cash.

I am so happy announce that I have become involved in a local organization called the Independent Wedding Association. The IWA is a collection of Twin Cities wedding professionals that demonstrate value, creative flair, and a true love of weddings. I’m posting this information here because the IWA is seeking new members.

If you know someone who is dedicated to quality wedding service, creativity, and is locally owned, let me know, or encourage them to apply! The fair will be February 2010 at the awesome Five Event Center in Uptown, and there will be lots of other benefits to membership in the mean time.

Hey there blogland — I’m currently looking for a fun-loving couple (engaged or married)* to help me by modeling for a cool new project! Here are the details:

The shoot would be outdoors in either Minneapolis or St. Paul on a weekend in March (I’m hoping to capture some snow but avoid the cold).
You are willing to wear something fabulous (woman in wedding dress or nice dressy outfit, man in a suit or blazer). This isn’t a trash-the-dress type of shoot, but you might get a little dirty. Nothing that wouldn’t be cleanable.
You’re up for taking pictures where I want to shoot for about two hours. (Nothing too crazy, mostly urban areas.)
You’re a real couple, willing to show your love on camera!
You are available one weekend day in March between 2 and 4pm.

In return for your time, you’ll get a DVD of your full-resolution digital files (a $500 value), the pictures posted in an online gallery to share with family and friends, and 10% off any prints you want to purchase through me.

Please send me an email with a picture of the both of you, and let me know which days you are available in March!

Welcome to the brand-new front page of www.sarahmcgeephotography.com! Now my blog is the first thing you see when you visit my website and you can keep tabs of all of my new work. My new portfolio site should be ready around the first of the year . . . please stay tuned.

And with the new year, I’m also launching new pricing. You can download a copy of the new pricelist by clicking on the picture to the right. This pricelist goes into effect as of today, December 13, 2008.

I will be honoring my 2008 pricelist through December 31, 2008 – so if you want to book at those rates, contact me right away so we can reserve your date! You don’t have to pick your package yet, but I do require a signed agreement and $500 deposit.

My 2009 portrait session feel will remain $125 for up to 4 people. My print pricing will be changing slightly. Please contact me if you want more details!
